Jabari Jumps, by Gaia Cornwall

Lately, Jabari Jumps is our most frequently read book. One of the increasingly rare children's books that both my son and I enjoy reading, it has a solid plot, simple prose, and great illustrations.  A young black boy decides he's ready to jump off the diving board, realizes he's afraid, but perseveres after a talk with his dad.  Highly recommended.
